about me

Professional

I specialise in designing for complex, niche problem spaces — regulated industries, multi-user workflows, and ambiguous briefs with no clear precedent. End-to-end across products that require deep-domain knowledge, often as the sole designer. I lead discovery, reason without user access, and ship dev-ready. Remote, self-directed by default.

Personal

Linux lover — Arch & Mint (for work). Favourite compositors: Niri (customised it on my TV box), and i3 — seems to give me the least amount of problems. Tried PikaOS and CachyOS, currently trying to do my own ricing.

I love pixel art — any game that's pixel, I'll probably get it. I studied software engineering for about 3 years, realised I was a bit out of my depth, and switched to something a bit less technical: Information Technology & Systems. Found I really enjoyed native app development (Android Studio and Swift).

Currently down the rabbit hole of homelabbing, building my own at-home server — getting rid of the "you're out of storage" notifications would be a dream :D

Senior Product Designer · Terem 2021–2026

Consultancy

Product designer across multiple B2B, B2B2C, B2C and enterprise client engagements. Owned design direction and decisions from discovery through to dev-ready delivery. Fully remote, working with multi-disciplined teams client-side.

Product Strategy Collaborated with Product Owners and engineers to define feature roadmaps and MVP scopes, ensuring design objectives aligned with long-term business goals.
End-to-End Execution Owned the full design lifecycle from discovery to high-fidelity handoff, frequently operating as the sole designer within cross-functional engineering squads.
Constraint-First Translated high-complexity domain logic (Aviation, Health, Logistics) into functional workflows that prioritised technical efficiency and system constraints.
Engineering Alignment Collaborated deeply with developers to ensure designs were feasible and compatible with legacy systems and API limitations, significantly reducing development friction and future rework.
Design Advocacy Challenged and refined initial product requirements by identifying business and user need gaps, pivoting stakeholders toward solutions that balanced vision with realistic delivery timelines.
Scalable Patterns Established reusable design patterns by customising industry-standard frameworks (e.g., MUI), ensuring complex flows remained consistent with engineering-ready components.
Lean Validation Optimised restricted budgets by identifying system bottlenecks early; utilised rapid prototyping to test and de-risk assumptions and minimise technical and design re-work.
UX Designer · Suncorp 2019–2021

Worked simultaneously across brands such as AAMI, GIO and Suncorp to uplift their digital experience.

Cross-functional Partnered with multi-disciplinary design teams and stakeholders to maintain visual and functional consistency across a diverse portfolio of brands.
Design System Collaborated with developer peers to define and integrate new UI patterns into a shared enterprise component library, ensuring scalability across a unified ecosystem.
A/B Testing Provided strategic advice and planning on testing, ensuring high-integrity, reliable results.
Enterprise Scale Worked within established design system constraints to deliver solutions that balanced individual brand identity with global system requirements.
Stakeholder Mgmt Communicated design rationale and testing outcomes to broader teams, ensuring alignment between brand-specific goals and the overarching design strategy.
Senior UX Designer · Symplicit 2017–2019

Agency

UX/UI design for major B2C clients such as Energy Australia, NAB and AAMI — enhancing their existing digital customer experience. Conducted user research and synthesis, translating findings into dev-ready wireframes. Worked within each business's existing brand and component library.

What I delivered Multi-sided user platform. Mobile doctor App and Desktop Platform for billers.
Platform Mobile PWA & Desktop web
Outcome Shipped & in-use today, reduced manual review by ~20%, removed the need for handover notes
  • Digitised a 3-team workflow with no existing precedent
  • Designed validation & exception handling for AI-assisted workflows
  • Partnered with engineering to define AI guardrails and limits
  • Collaborated with founders on the feature map, MVP and design standards
  • Designed a full audit trail for legal & business compliance
  • Identified bottlenecks and designed more efficient workflow patterns
  • Established scalable patterns so the platform could evolve without a designer
  • Shifting change-resistant doctors from paper to digital submissions
  • Interconnected teams — delays compound downstream if one team stalls
  • Designing trust into human-in-the-loop AI, given the sensitive data involved
  • Splitting submissions so verified claims aren't held back by others
  • Handling "partial success" — when some claims succeed and others don't
  • Accommodating 3rd-party insurers on different platforms and workflows
